Kids adVentures is part of Social adVentures – a not for profit health and wellbeing organisation that work across Salford and Manchester delivering a variety of community based interventions designed to increase people’s health and wellbeing. Services include a Healthy Living Centre offering social prescribing outreach and a mental health garden.
Social adVentures started operating day nurseries in 2014. This was a natural progression as having worked with communities around health and wellbeing this gave an opportunity to work with whole families. The aim has always been to provide high quality childcare contributing to developing healthy and happy children.
Like its parent organisation, Kids adVentures is a not for profit social enterprise. This means any surplus made goes back into the services we provide. For example, all of the forest school provision and training across all sites is a direct re-investment from these surpluses.
The whole Social adVentures and Kids adVentures team are passionate about the communities they work within. For example, during the Coronavirus pandemic we provided keyworker childcare across extended flexible hours and bank holidays to meet the needs of frontline workers, we provided food parcels to vulnerable families and we cooked 600 meals a week for the NHS.
